Study Japanese in Niigata, a beautiful port city on the coast of the Japan Sea. The College of Foreign Languages, Tourism and Airline opened in 1988. Among their many departments and facilities, their Japanese Language Department has welcomed students from all over the world who want to study Japanese.

Classes focus on communicating in small groups with students of the same level. You will be able to simultaneously improve your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills while making new friends. With those new friends you will have the opportunity to attend fun events in addition to your studies, such as exchanges with locals and even a Japanese sports festival.

The city of Niigata is the most populous city in Niigata Prefecture. Campus is located close to Niigata Station where you can take bullet trains to visit other areas of Japan on your days off. With a bicycle you can also visit the beach in just 10 minutes! It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a BBQ and the sunset. In winter, you can enjoy Niigata’s famous skiing and winter sports.

The long term course can be taken as either a 1 and a half year course, or a full two year course! You can expect your communicative abilities in Japanese to grow at a fast rate. Short Term Course

The Japanese Language Department at the College of Foreign Languages, Tourism and Airline offers short-term courses for students who want to improve their Japanese language skills and experience Japanese culture. Many fun seasonal events are available which will help you deepen your knowledge and love of Japan.

Enrollment Period (3-Month Course): April, May, and September*
Class Schedule: Monday to Friday
Class Duration: 9:10-12:25 or 13:40-16:55
*Joining the classes outside of official entrance periods is possible based on language level and class availability. Please inquire.


4-Week Tuition: ¥115,000*
8-Week Tuition: ¥175,000*
3-Month Tuition: ¥235,000*

College of Foreign Languages, Tourism and Airline is a member of the NSG College League, which has 29 vocational schools! Once you finish your Japanese studies, you can continue to study in Japan to prepare for a career as as a manga artist, animator, beauty technician, nail technician, chef, or more! At one of these vocational schools, you can make some of your childhood dreams come true. Many programs are available to meet popular needs and suit Japan’s strengths. There many jobs available after your studies and your professional teachers will be your guide!
