Akamonkai’s study methods

Classes will use Zoom to display a presentation, while a teacher instructs on kanji, vocabulary, and grammar, practicing, conversation and leads mini writing assignments. In the latter half of each class, a discussion will be opened up with your classmates and teacher.

Rich examples and illustrations will be provided for kanji, vocabulary and grammar, so you can fully understand how to use them. Extra care will be given to the difference between writing and spoken Japanese. Oral practice is also a big portion of class, allowing you to improve your communication skills. And each day there will be a review of the previous class, so everyone can keep up and help with each other’s weak points.

Courses

Beginner Course

This course is perfect for complete beginners who want to learn Japanese but do not know where to start!

Basic Course 1

Students who have learned hiragana and katakana will improve their vocabulary and ability to express what they want to say to Japanese people.

Basic Course 2

Students will improve their Japanese language skills, particularly conversation, to JLPT N4 level and acquire the communication skills to be able to have simple interactions with Japanese people.

Skill-up Course

Students will improve their Japanese language skills, particularly conversation and writing, to JLPT N3 level and acquire the Japanese language skills necessary for daily life in Japan.

Challenge Course 1

Students will improve Japanese language skills to a level close to passing N2 and acquire the ability to express one’s own opinions on topics other than daily life.

Challenge Course 2

Students will improve Japanese language skills to N2 level and acquire Japanese language skills to be able to explain complicated topics in a logical manner.

High-Level Course

For 2 days a week x 10 weeks (2.5 months) every term, students will improve their Japanese language skills, especially conversation, to JLPT N1 level and acquire the communication skills to be able to have smooth interactions with Japanese people.
※Because this course offers a wide range of the themes, a variety of the topics will be covered each term. Depending on the level of the achievement, students will be able to continue their studies for a period of 3 months, 6 months, 9 months or 1 year.
